About the Role:
Dental Expressions in Bayside, NY is looking for a talented and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our growing team! Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of dental procedures including fillings, extractions, and implant surgery
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms between patients
- Take dental X-rays (radiographs) as directed
- Greet patients, review medical histories, and ensure a comfortable patient experience
- Prepare setups for specific dental procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts using Dentrix
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and answer any questions or concerns
- Be prepared for the day by going over daily huddle with team
- Order supplies for practice in coordination with doctor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; dental assisting certification or vocational training preferred
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a dental office or facility
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Dental radiography Dexis
- Strong knowledge of Dentrix software
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, patient-centered approach
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience in dental surgery a plus
- Must speak English clearly enough to communicate and be understood by our patients
